Drama Teacher in Tower Hamlets

About the Role

Our client, an esteemed secondary school in the vibrant borough of Tower Hamlets, seeks a highly qualified and enthusiastic Drama Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2024, offering an exciting chance to inspire and cultivate a love for the dramatic arts in Key Stage 3 and 4 students.

Key Responsibilities
• Design and deliver engaging and innovative drama lessons that align with the national curriculum and the school's educational philosophy.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to express themselves creatively and develop their acting, directing, and technical skills.
• Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing constructive feedback and tailoring instruction to individual needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to create enriching cross-curricular... experiences and contribute to the school's vibrant performing arts program.
• Actively participate in the school's extracurricular activities, such as directing school productions, organizing drama clubs, and participating in festivals and competitions.

Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelor's degree in Drama or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated experience teaching drama at the secondary level, with a proven track record of inspiring and motivating students.
• A strong understanding of the national curriculum for drama and a passion for keeping abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
