Job Descrption
Position Overview:
The Junior Developer will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, and maintenance of Flint Capital’s software infrastructure. This includes assisting with the integration of payment APIs, particularly with The Currency Cloud, and ensuring the security and performance of all systems. The Junior Developer will collaborate with senior members of the technology team to develop and optimize code, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to the overall success of the technical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• API Integration & Development:
• Assist with the development and integration of APIs for payment processing, ensuring seamless and secure transactions.
• Work closely with senior developers to implement new features and optimize existing systems, especially in connection with The Currency Cloud platform.
• Software Development:
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in line with best practices under the guidance of senior developers.
• Assist... in debugging and troubleshooting technical issues, including performance optimization and security vulnerabilities.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Participate in the development and execution of unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure the reliability of the platform.
• Assist in identifying and fixing bugs, ensuring that all code meets quality and performance standards.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Work with senior developers, the CTO, and other team members to understand project requirements and contribute to the delivery of technical solutions.
• Actively participate in team meetings, providing feedback and sharing progress on assigned tasks.
• Security & Compliance:
• Support the implementation of security best practices in coding and data management.
• Assist in ensuring that all development activities comply with Flint Capital’s IT Information Security Policy and other relevant data protection and regulatory standards.
Key Qualifications:
• Experience:
• 1-2 years of experience in software development, either through internships, personal projects, or previous job roles.
• Experience working with APIs and web services (REST, SOAP) is a plus, especially in fintech or payment systems.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or Ruby.
• Basic understanding of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or similar).
• Familiarity with version control tools like Git and GitHub.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
