Converge was founded by Raph and Gideon in late 2014 to help build the future of construction more efficiently, safely, and sustainably. We are currently very focussed on concrete, which accounts for 8% of global carbon emissions. We do this with two hardware-enabled SaaS products: ConcreteDNA and PrecastDNA. The team comes from all different countries and backgrounds, but we are all dedicated to building the future of construction more efficiently, safely, and sustainably.

As part of a small but super talented hardware engineering team, you will:

Deliver highly-reliable mechanical designs for wireless hardware products... from conception to mass production.

Design and architect mechanical products for robustness, reliability, and scalability.

Work closely with peers and stakeholders on collaborative problem solving, relentlessly removing impediments from their path.

Foster open and productive discussions, partly through high-quality, clear written communication.

Set the bar for technical excellence and contribute to a culture of technical excellence in the wider organisation.

You have a strong technical background in mechanical engineering. Bonus points for experience with manufacturing or industrial product design.

You have significant experience in designing, testing and validating full mechanical designs.

You have some experience in managing a third party in the design, test and validation of mechanical designs.

You have some experience in improving product quality and processes, particularly in manufacturing and test jigs.

You have some experience in engineering for cost and ownership or maintenance of a Mechanical BOM.

You are articulate and empathetic, you can bring people along with you and encourage leadership and development at all levels.

You are comfortable with and enjoy operating in the uncertainty of a startup environment where you will have to prioritise ruthlessly and wear different hats in order to deliver without exhausting yourself and your team.

You are customer and product focussed, with a strong sense of what “great” looks like.

You place a lot of value in high-quality written (async) and verbal (sync) communication.

Competitive salary of up to £65,000 based on experience.
