Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of relevant experience working in social media analytics for global consumer brands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with social analytics data sources and structuring (, APIs, JSON, etc.) and with business applications of social media platforms.
  • Experience with large data set management and structuring (, BigQuery, Python, etc.).
  • Experience creating unique, value-adding, evolving insights. Experience as a proactive, independent worker.
  • Knowledge of the YouTube platform, its capabilities and features, apps, and Top Creators.
  • Ability to work well with minimal guidance. Ability to thoughtfully and holistically create reports that address large strategic business questions with a data-based narrative.
  • Ability to speak and write in English fluently and idiomatically.

Social Marketers establish the foundation for integrating social into all Google user touch points - from advertising campaigns to event marketing to customer service - in a clear and consistent way. We collaborate cross-functionally with product marketing leads to help align earned awareness marketing with the product and business roadmap. You will use data-driven analysis and insights to improve campaign effectiveness and value to the business, as well as exceptional online advertising solutions across Google’s key marketing initiatives.

The YouTube brand is complex and dynamic. As a result, we believe that insights about the understanding and perceptions of our brand are critical. This role will lead social analytics to analyze and define insights related how people perceive our brand. With our growing number of users and products, it’s never been more crucial to define, defend, and grow our brand in the right way. As the Social Media Brand Analyst, you’ll be integral in these efforts - both defining insights and working with teams to deliver impact. You will be part of the YouTube Social team who aspire to make YouTube the most loved and engaged social brand in the world while driving core business metrics. You will be providing coverage on global and regional issues and working closely with cross-functional teams, both local and international, to fully utilize social data in order to uncover insights that inform business and marketing decisions and track/assess rapid escalation scenarios. You will focus on analysis of audiences and broad analysis of global trends.

  • Manage all social analytics for the YouTube Brand team.
  • Identify trends and issues on social platforms that have global potential.
  • Turn information into insights and create actionable, data-backed reports. Compile results to inform management while providing recommendations based on research.
  • Work with PR, Trusty and Safety, the Creator team, and cross-functional stakeholders on potential and/or emerging complex issues and challenges communications related to potential and/or emerging incidents.
  • Use social data and analysis to inform paid social planning, budgeting, and targeting.
