Position Summary

Under direct supervision of the Research Manager and the Principal Investigator, the Research Assistant will assist with designated clinical trials.


  • Identify and recruit potential subjects for enrollment, following protocol specific criteria
  • Obtain informed consent and ensure proper execution of the study protocol including visit specific procedures
  • Assist with medical history, ECG collection, obtaining vital signs, collection and processing of samples, 6MWT, and administration of questionnaires
  • Collect other relevant clinical data, keep charts/records complete and up to date, and ensure timely entry of study-specific databases (electronic and paper)
  • Assist with the completion and submission of new clinical trial applications to the IRB; writing plain language informed consent documents; tracking and facilitating the progress of new trials through the review process; corresponding with the IRB and investigators throughout the review process; collection, completion, and submission of regulatory documents
  • Assist with training clinical and study staff on the study protocol
  • Interact with research participants and serve as a liaison for research participants' outside clinical care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science and at least years of related experience or equivalent in training and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in phlebotomy is desired.

Other Requirements

  • The candidate selected for this position is required t undergo a drug screening test prior to a final offer of employment being made.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  • Must be well-organized, proactive and enthusiastic self-starter with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and be able to function effectively as part of the research team (physicians, nurses, and research staff).
  • Technological savvy, high attention to detail and ability to work independently and solve problems.
  • Must successfully complete required trainings for this position.
  • Participation in medical surveillance program required.
