We’re looking for a Head of Architecture to join our Global Technology team.
Day to Day You’ll Be:
Building and developing the Architecture function and discipline in the UK, with capability that is appropriate for the UK business and aligns to the TU Global Architecture function.
Creation and maintenance of “technology” as well as business driven roadmaps for all IT services in the UK business, aligned to the architectural direction of TU globally and the UK business 3-year plan.
The owner of the 3-year plan for technology.
The lead technologist in the business: Understanding the industry trends; Building relationships with key technology suppliers and clients.
When developing and delivering against the roadmaps:
Drive the use of technology that promotes (long term) efficiency, scalability and flexibility.
Drive a commercial view of the choices being made
Build on the “shared IP” philosophy of TU
Ensure design authority and governance is in place to manage adherence to and deviation from the agreed architectural direction and roadmaps
Budget planning & control over IT Strategy and Architecture.
Exercise quality control and progress control over the work of direct reports.
Communicating architecture and IT standards to all stakeholders and ensure standards are published, updated and adhered to.
Responsible for managing architecture process risk.
Essential Skills & Experience:
An excellent appreciation of the world of technology and trends within the industry.
An excellent understanding of the credit market in the UK and wider.
Strong communication and engagement skills at C Level internally, within clients and in the industry.
Educated to degree level or suitable experience
Substantial experience leading an Architecture function in a medium to large organisation.
