About our Team
 

In Journal Operations, we collaborate with researchers and internal teams to facilitate the publication of impactful research discoveries. In support of our portfolio of 2700+ journals, you will actively contribute to advancing science and improving health outcomes.
 

About the Role
 

You will be leading and developing a high-performing team responsible for managing the publication journey for authors and reviewers across a portfolio of journals.
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Being accountable for overall team performance. Inspiring a high level of staff performance through training, coaching and ongoing development.
  • Overseeing the performance review process. Supporting Journal Managers (JMs) in translating department targets into meaningful objectives, and regularly engaging on progress.
  • Being accountable for author and reviewer journeys in team portfolio of journals. Coaching JMs to take accountability, to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize effort in the publication journey.
  • Working with JMs to understand key trends and areas for improvement; coaching and supporting continuous improvement and optimization work
  • Leading and contributing to global projects striving for change; collaborating across departments and breaking down barriers to drive for results.
  • Rallying the team to deliver content growth and issuing realization targets on team portfolio of journals.
  • Developing effective collaboration between team members and team managers, and across teams, locally and globally.


Requirements
 

  • Have experience in leading and developing teams, driving results through effective leadership and people management skills.
  • Have a good understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate those needs into actionable strategies.
  • Be able to lead and drive organizational change initiatives. Be able to coach and support team members through periods of change.
  • Have excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Be able to align team objectives with broader organizational strategies, with a focus on driving continuous improvement and optimization efforts.
