What’s the role?
As senior rotating equipment engineer in Onegas West engineering team (working in agile squads) you work in a highly motivated and autonomous team supporting to achieve the assets OGW (Leman, Solepit & Bacton) in their objectives on integrity and production reliability.
You will be responsible for ensuring the rotating equipment’s condition, both short-term and long-term, thereby directly contributing to the PU’s bottom line performance. You will be based in the Great Yarmouth, with occasional visits offshore. You will be responsible for delivering technical solutions as well as delivering support and guidance to the execution teams, offering you opportunities to apply and develop both your technical skills and leadership skills.
The PU engineering team focuses on execution of engineering-driven AMS (Asset Management Systems) processes, such as Manage Threats and Opportunities (MTO), Manage Equipment Care (MEC), Pro-active Technical Monitoring (PTM) and Asset Integrity & Process Safety related work processes.
The senior rotating equipment engineer:
Provides rotating equipment engineering expertise in ensuring the integrity and high reliability of production unit (PU) systems
Resolves technical integrity and reliability issues of the PU rotating equipment, using Company tools and processes
Provides on-site technical support and training as required by business circumstance
Assists in setting direction of maintenance strategies and maintenance reference plan, sharing joint accountability for delivering this plan
Owns, optimizes and deploys rotating equipment maintenance plans, change proposals, pro-active technical monitoring plans, spares plans and obsolescence plans
Owns PU rotating equipment performance standards, reviews deviations and ensures compliance with Technical Authority Framework
Participates in technical audits and reviews, a.o. HAZOP, pre-start-up audits
Co-develops, optimizes and manages specialist contracts for rotating equipment aftermarket services
Assures quality of discipline related critical documentation and data for PU West, incl. SAP master data.
What we need from you
Relevant and demonstrable (hands-on) experience in design, operation, commissioning, start-up, maintenance, and condition monitoring of rotating equipment, in particular for the types of equipment used in the PU,
Affinity with active magnetic bearing systems in rotating equipment is looked at favourably,
Relevant and demonstrable in-depth knowledge of and experience with mechanical (rotating equipment) engineering and systems integrity in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry,
Thorough understanding of technologies and practices in oil and gas industry,
Competent in application/facilitation of RCM assessments, reliability/availability, and root cause analysis processes,
Conversant with rotating equipment engineering standards; working knowledge of mechanical static and piping engineering standards,
Conversant with related documentation and documentation requirements,
Detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, Shell standards and industry standards for rotating equipment, quickly be able to find, understand and apply relevant discipline standards
Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems, preferably SAP,
High degree of personal independence and good verbal/ written communication skills.
Minimally BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent degree
