Job Description:

What’s the role?

The Shift Trading Operator is part of the Gas Trading Operations Team comprising a team of thirteen Shift Trading Operators alongside four Senior Gas Trading Operators and three Gas Specialists. The team sits within the Shell Energy Europe and Africa (SE-EA) Commercial Operations team and is responsible for the short-term operational management and optimisation of the SE-EA gas portfolio in Europe, spanning over 17 countries. This role is part of a 24/7 shift team based in London and will report directly to the Gas Trading Operations Manager.

More specific responsibilities include:

  • Trading optimise portfolio using asset and market spreads across Europe

  • Ensure compliance with its contractual and shipper licence obligations, working in line with regulatory and policy requirements

  • Responsible for the accurate nomination and scheduling of equity supplies, trading hubs, storages, interconnectors and pipeline transportation

  • Financial and physical optimisation of portfolio

  • Monitor gas markets, gas flow data and SE-EE portfolio balances

  • Minimise any imbalances

What we need from you?

We are keen to hear from individuals with proven experience of dealing with various European and UK gas operations and gas markets. You’ll also bring in your experience of dealing with LNG Cargos on regasification side.

You are a self-starter, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task and take ownership of issues from start to resolution. Your excellent analytical skills will be put to use as you focus on portfolio optimization, delivering additional value to our organization. As a team player, you’ll bring in high level of communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues. Your proficiency in IT systems, especially MS Office, will be an asset as well.
