Job Description:

DTN has an outstanding opportunity for an Intern Meteorologist at our Bloomington, MN Weather Operations Center. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide DTN customers with world-class text and graphical weather support.

You must relocate to Minnesota for this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analyze and forecast key global weather features
• Leverage in-house technology and datasets to create detailed text and graphical content
• Collaborate with teams to ensure that forecast products are accurate and consistent
• Isolate and resolve issues impacting graphics creation and/or distribution

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science
• Must be able to work rotating shifts which includes nights, weekends, and holidays

Skills and Abilities:

• Complete tasks in a schedule-driven environment
• Proficient synoptic analysis and forecasting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High energy individuals with positive attitude
• Ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate and collaborate with others

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is $17/hour. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
