Growth & Middle Market (G&MM) Technology Banking: New banking team based in UK to focus on public and venture capital/private equity-backed Tech companies with £40mm-2b in revenue.
NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS
Initial Team Size: 6-8 comprised of Relationship Manager (RM), Credit Solutions, and 2L Credit; intent to prove out the business, then look to expand to select countries on the continent.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Build out the business and establish and lead the team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish a high performing team, by hiring top talent, setting clear vision and expectations, leading from the front and creating a team culture that values transparency, mutual goals, high ethical standards, and an entrepreneurial spirt.
- Create a go-to-market strategy, beginning in the UK and Ireland, then expanding to broader EMEA over time.
- Leverage the strengths of MUFG, the skills of the team, and the relationships and know- how of the US-based Tech team.
- Collaborate closely with Direct Lending, Transaction Banking, Leveraged Finance and other partners to deliver the full platform to the market.
- Extend the MUFG brand to include middle market tech, leveraging large and small events, media and other tactics.
- Aspire to be a top 3 bank in whatever geographies we operate.
- Promote business with clients.
- Establish and maintain solid relationship with clients at management level while achieving financial targets.
- Create highly motivated organization through close communication with staff.
- Coach and mentor staff with mutual respect and understanding.
- Credit/operational risk management of G&MM Tech business.
- Review credit applications and supervise/control Business exposure allocation.
- Monitor financial conditions of G&MM Tech clients through annual, semi-annual, and quarterly credit reviews.
- Implement and monitor Business credit process in accordance with General Credit Policy for UK/EMEA
- Supervise the Business operations and its compliance situation with various rules and regulation.
- Coordinate introductions of MUFG Product Team members to client's specialists handling capital markets activities, foreign exchange, currency and interest rate hedging, mergers and acquisitions, leasing, securitization, and cash management activities.
- Actively seek opportunities to match MUFG's Americas, Asian and European product set with the needs of the assigned client base.
- Construct, design and lead other GCIB colleagues in various strategic initiatives which are required due to market factors or Management Initiatives.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:
- 15+ years of banking experience
- 5+ years experience in management role

- Essential: Well-developed network of professional peers and track record of achievement with prior portfolio assignments

Education / Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of related work experience, an MBA degree preferred.
