Department Overview

This role sits within the Airwave UK services finance team and is responsible for accurate and timely invoicing to Airwave customers in the UK.


Job Description

This role is primarily a remote working role with occasional visits to our UK offices.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:  

  • Invoicing to Airwave customers (monthly, quarterly and annual services) in the Home Office, police forces, ambulance trusts, fire services and other public sector entities.
  • Ensuring invoices are accurate, in line with customer requirements and produced in a timely manner in accordance with billing schedules.
  • Involvement in month end revenue recognition and reporting activities alongside wider finance team
  • Maintain strong relationships with external customers’ AP and commercial teams, solving problems and answering queries
  • Working with finance colleagues to ensure robust adherence to the Competition and Markets Authority’s charge control order, ensuring Airwave billing conforms to the requirements 
  • Maintain strong internal relationships with Airwave orders team and Business Relationship Managers to ensure billing is accurate and complete
  • Resolving queries on unbilled orders and unpaid invoices
  • Perform Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls on monthly basis and adhering to documented processes, maintaining appropriate documentation, including involvement with internal and external auditors, facilitating audit walkthroughs and aiding substantive testing.
  • Ensure system integrity within orders and billing systems
  • Review of accounts receivable activities, including management of trade debtors, cash management, direct debit processing and cash allocation.
     


Basic Requirements

  • UK resident with the expectation of achieving national security clearance to SC level. To be eligible for security clearance you must be a resident of the UK for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Experience of customer billing, ideally in a services environment
  • Excellent communication and social skills to ensure effective internal and external relationships with Airwave colleagues and customers
  • The ability to work independently, self-motivate, organise yourself and prioritise your workload
  • Experience of SOX environments and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of controls and processes
  • Attention to detail when working across multiple systems, manual processes and with ad hoc requirements
  • Good systems skills, including Microsoft and Google software products
  • Ambition to learn and develop in a supportive yet challenging environment, showing potential to develop into wider roles or take on new responsibilities
