The Role: Bid Manager (EMEA) – Government Defence & National Security  

The Team:  

The Government Defence & National Security Team (GDNS) provide economic, global risk events, maritime risk and trade data alongside bespoke consulting to Militaries, civil security agencies and Government Departments as well as private sector companies. This data directly aids with critical strategic decisions across planning, live operations, and scenario planning.  

 

What’s in it for you:  

As Bid Manager you will be responsible for developing and cultivating all GDNS Tenders across your region and product portfolio. You and the team will be responsible for both subscriptions and consulting Tenders. As an individual contributor you will have the opportunity to leverage your data subscription and consultative Bid Management skills to build relationships at user, director, and C suite level across EMEA. Supporting you will be our deep bench of consultants, product experts, and solutions engineers from across GIA 

 

The Territory: 

  • Government – across Europe and Africa, 

  • Defence and National Security - across Europe, Middle East & Africa. 

 

What We are looking for: 

  • Proven history of top performance or remarkable achievement at Bid Manager level within the GDNS sector.   

  • Ability to learn complex concepts quickly and communicate those concepts in a simple to explain method to potential customers. 

  • Owning your number – Accurately forecasting committed and best-case deals on a monthly and quarterly basis.  

  • Demonstrate that you will be able to understand or learn multiple GIA data, analytics, and research solutions. What challenge they solve, how they solve this differently from others and how this has been applied to existing customer challenges. 

  • Demonstrate that you will be able to understand or learn how GIA consultancy services can be used to solve key customer challenges for existing upsells and new logos. 

  • Self-starter, keen to learn and desires to develop skills base. 

  • Has expertise in improving products/services or processes. 

  • Be able to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple sources of information.  

  • Be able to impact various activities across teams, including customers, operations, projects, and services.  

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Outbound Pipeline generation – Generating pipeline by meeting agreed customer outbound activity targets.  

  • Solutions and Customer Knowledge – Personal responsibility to leverage internal and external resource to learn the GIA product suite. Including key customer pain points and personas to ensure superior execution of enterprise and transactional level selling. 

  • Identifying and establishing trading terms for bids and tenders 

  • Manage multiple bid systems across EMEA 

  • Monitor and capture all relevant GDNS bids.  

  • Collaborating with business developers and account managers to clarify customer requirements. 

  • Identifying and managing appropriate resources to develop custom solutions. 

  • Packaging and price custom solutions  

  • Coordinating legal sign-off on bids and proposals  

  • Have in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in bid management, particularly within Public Sector 

  • Possess functional knowledge in bid management and related areas.
