If so, a position as a Senior Sampling Assistant within our animal house team could be the role for you. This role is based at our site at Eye, Suffolk. As part of this role you will be a member of a cross-site department, therefore occasional travel to Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire will be required. Please note, due to the remote location of these sites, there are no public transport links available.
In this office based role, your main responsibilities will include:
Scheduling multiple in-life biological sample processing procedures within Animal Operations.
Attending pre-study and terminal reviews, maintaining close liaison with the animal facility management team and study managers in respect of the in-life phase of studies
Interpreting complex laboratory study designs, reviewing, amending and printing labelling.
Ensuring that staff resources, equipment and materials are utilised effectively by planning future workloads with the supervisor.
Assuming responsibility of stepping in for supervisor during absences.
What we need from you:
GCSE level Grade C or above or equivalent in English and Maths
Previous experience working in In-life studies would be highly advantageous OR extensive experience in administration or scheduling would be considered
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
Exemplary decision making, negotiation and problem solving skills
Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project)
