The EC&I Systems and Safety team develops the system design, safety case and information assurance case for the Reactor Control and Instrumentation, Power Systems and Plant Sensors for future classes of submarine.

What you’ll be doing:

You will be involved in supporting current and future safety campaigns, working closely with key stakeholders to perform electrical control systems safety analysis and manage safety requirements:

  • Develop modern standard safety cases.
  • Undertake hazard identification and safety analysis.
  • Justify that equipment has met its categorisation and classification requirements.
  • Work closely with cross functional resource to produce and present robust substantiation (and implementation of engineering change).
  • Complete analysis to support criticality safety assessments.
  • Complete failure modes and effects analysis, fault tree analysis and functional failure analysis.
  • Challenge existing analysis/arguments
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation to a standard compatible with engineering best practice.

Required:

  • Degree in Engineering, Maths, Physics or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrable evidence of proactivity, determination and delivery focus;
  • The ability to provide clear, concise and accurate technical reports;

Preferable:

  • Experience or knowledge of hazard identification techniques such as FMEAs, HAZOPs, Fault & Event Tree Analysis, and reliability evaluation methods.

To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don’t currently already have this in place.
