Job Description

The Restructure Execution team sits within the Investment Strategy Management department; it is responsible for bespoke and complex client/pooled change events. The Restructure Execution team supports clients coming into/out of LGIM or making changes within LGIM.

The Restructure Execution Managers work in partnership with a team of project managers and fund managers to deliver complex investment change. The Restructure Execution team is responsible for: 

  • Management of finite number of transitions & change events that can cover all products & instruments
  • Strategy design & implementation  
  • Ownership for high risk pooled change
  • Production of tailored pre, intra & post trade reporting

The job holder will work with other areas within LGIM including Institutional Business, Global Trading, Index Fund Management, LDI, Active Fund Management, L&G group companies, Legal and Operations.

The job holder will be responsible for conducting key functions in the costing, managing and implementing of transitions as well as contributing and providing support to other team members as required.

The team’s primary focus is the management of multi-asset transitions and the associated support for the entire process. 

Responsibilities

  • Managing complex transitions involving all asset classes with minimal oversight and support
  • Engaging with project stakeholders independently and alongside project managers to identify implementation objectives and constraints.
  • Formulating proposed trading and implementation strategies around change
  • Liaising with other departments and teams as required to deliver a consistent high quality solution to all clients.
  • Ensuring that procedures are adhered to and that you are fully engaged regarding risk, regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Providing both technical expertise and market knowledge when required either pre, during or post a restructure. Supporting Client Directors when planning a transition (e.g. explaining strategy) and following implementation. Presenting to clients where required.
  • Providing internal education and sharing best practice on the issues and costs of restructuring mandates
  • Helping with the design and development of strategic and tactical IT solutions

Qualifications

Essential skills

  • Experience of financial markets
  • Experience analysing complex investment problems
  • Detailed knowledge of risk management approaches and measures
  • In depth knowledge of derivatives, including pricing and application to portfolios
  • Excellent excel skills

Desirable skills:

  • Strong depth of pooled products
  • Experience in asset manager and/or fund management
  • Experience of coding
