We have an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst to join the Workplace Pensions team within our Retail Division here at L&G. 

As an Actuarial Analyst you will support with product pricing, product development and business development of our Workplace Pension products.

You will also get involved with everything from the negotiation and authorisation of pricing (both new business tender stage and/or retention pricing stage), through to providing analysis and reporting of ongoing scheme profitability and Assets Under Management.

This role would be ideal for either a Part-Qualified Actuary who has now stopped taking exams or an individual with a Quantitative Degree and a minimum of 1 Years relevant work experience.

This is a hybrid working opportunity, so you can split your working week flexibly between your home and our London offices to help you achieve a work-life balance which suits you.

Qualifications

  • Either a Part-Qualified Actuary (who is no longer actively taking exams) or an individual with a Quantitative Degree and a minimum of 1 Years relevant Work Experience (e.g. within an Actuarial role or similar)
  • Previous experience working in a UK life office or reinsurer is highly preferable, but not essential.
  • Knowledge of unit linked pensions products would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • Ability to promptly analyse work requests and assess the requirements.
  • Good word processing, Excel & VBA skills.
  • Ability to investigate and solve problems where they arise.
  • Ability to handle a high volumes of diverse work, and being able to effectively plan and prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately with a low error rate, and to assess the results of calculations to ensure they are reasonable.
  • Ability to question results for reasonableness, and also to refer to more experienced staff where appropriate.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, so as to convey understanding of sometimes complex detail to both internal and external customers.
