Job Description

Legal and General Group Finance’s testing team are looking to hire a new Technical Test Lead to manage a small team in the creation and maintenance of a scalable and efficient test automation framework.

This role will see you manage all technical test planning, test design and execution, performance and stress testing and implementing and maintaining test automation across internal portfolios. You will be working closely with the Head of Test and Quality and Portfolio Test Managers to create and maintain an automation stack that is robust, reliable and ensure that updates and additions to the code stack are completed efficiently.

What you’ll be doing

  • Providing advice and guidance on any aspect of technical test planning and execution.
  • Adopting and adapting appropriate testing methods, automated tools, and techniques to solve problems in tools and testing approaches.
  • Creating Test Automation framework from the beginning and setting a uniform Test automaton standard across business.
  • Planning and driving technical testing activities across all stages and iterations of product, systems, and service development.
  • Identifying improvements and contributing to the development of policies, standards, and guidelines for testing.
  • Ensuring that standards and agreed processes are adhered to, and all the test artefacts align to the overall test automation strategy and architecture as well as audit requirements
  • Where appropriate, collaborating with other specialists to ensure advise given is appropriate to the organisation’s needs.
  • Helping develop and enhance stakeholder relationships. Dealing with problems and issues, managing resolutions, lessons learned, and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.
  • Managing, motivating, and developing employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.

Qualifications

  • An expert understanding of software testing, why it is important, and how it fits into the software development process is essential.
  • Serving as a lead in defining and rolling out standard Automation Frameworks, in line with latest industry/business
  • Agile and Scrum (essential knowledge and skills required)
  • Test Driven Development (essential knowledge and skills required)
  • Continuous Testing (essential knowledge and skills required)
  • Understanding of non-functional testing and ability to integrate the same within automation solution
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of multiple open source/commercial tools for Web and API test automation (Rest API, Selenium, Test Complete, JMeter etc.)
  • Experience in setting up and running CI/CD, Selenium grids, Git and other repo hubs
  • Adept at carving out / architecting commercially viable testing solutions, creating value differentiators
  • In-depth knowledge of Platforms like Azure, Windows / UNIX / Mainframes / Midrange / Networks
  • Experience in API and Front-end automation
  • Experience in Integration and configuration of test automation framework
  • Previous leadership, coaching or people management experience.
