Job Description

The Trainee Telephone Business Development Manager is responsible for the pipeline management of our top Prospect Panels for Annuity Income Products. They will be aligned to a specific region and responsible for supporting the TBDM and BDM with case management, while also handling their own firms. The role has been designed to support a greater number of adviser firms within each region, while also offering further support and creating greater opportunities for the BDMS. This will increase the number of new firms supporting us in 2024, and also increase the number of continued supporters.

What you will be doing:

  • Achieve agreed targets and KPI’s across a range of products and propositions so that LGR achieves its divisional objectives and importantly increases its market share.
  • Maintain and build a portfolio of intermediaries who can add sustainable value to our business, whilst having a clear focus on risk and compliance aspects to avoid exposing the business
  • Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the panel’s intermediaries in terms of business needs, issues and areas of focus. 
  • Ensure daily completion of Customer Relationship Management tool (CRM) to provide valuable and ongoing feedback and insight into the intermediary market
  • Act as support and escalation for the Broker Support Team with any application updates and calls so that they can introduce new advisers to Legal & General by carrying out Discovery Calls and providing regular case updates.
  • Demonstrate a full commitment to personal development through proactive attendance of training and workshops and keeping abreast of industry news to ensure that they can offer the best retirement solutions to the intermediaries within their region – therefore increasing the number of new continued supporters in 2024
  • Consumer Duty – Implement the distribution strategy aligned to the target market and monitor sales to ensure they are being made to the identified target market. Identify and escalate sales made outside of the target market, as appropriate
  • Drive development of these firms through a telephone-based contact strategy, demonstrating well-developed fact-finding skills, so that the business opportunities are maximised.

Qualifications

  • RO1 or equivalent or relevant experience in this type of role
  • A good understanding of the annuity market including propositions and products available through providers and how they fit into the intermediary advice process is
  • A strong understanding of telephone-based sales and relationship techniques from previous experience with some knowledge and understanding of the intermediary market
  • Telephone sales and ability to influence a decision during a telephone conversation.
  • Effective in selling and presenting on products and propositions
  • Experience in the Finance Industry would be desirable
  • Proactive Case Management Skills
  • The ability to prioritise their own workload and calendar
  • Good networking skills
  • Strategic approach and sharing best practice
