Job Description

We’re currently looking to hire a Middle Office Senior Manager to join Legal and General Investment Management (LGIM).

As Middle Office Senior Manager you’ll proactively lead the Middle Office activities and its service suppliers to provide a highly successful operational service to the Investment Teams that remains aligned to the strategic goals of LGIM globally and meet the client expected outcomes

What you’ll be doing

  • Accountable for the Middle Office activities (incl. Asset Services, Trade Services, Derivative Operations globally) as part of retained and or outsourced services globally in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines
  • Proactively oversee and manage the service of the outsourced provider, ensuring the service meets the agreed global service standards (incl. accuracy, timeliness, and client services measures)
  • Engage and support the outsource provider with agreed retained services delivery for respective service area
  • To take the lead in all matters with regards to the management of employees, making sure management discretion is used in a consistent manner, and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximize business performance
  • Accountable for ensuring strategic and operational risks and issues are identified, prioritised, assessed and mitigated within function and outsourced provider
  • Ensure senior stakeholders are briefed, updated and where appropriate enrolled in the management and control of key risks
  • Develop and refine quality processes that promote data integrity within the business with particular focus on continuous improvements to drive the development of the outsource model
  • Work in partnership and inclusive with Head of Department, Senior Managers/Peers and outsource provider to develop strategy and processes for managing middle office retained and outsourced activities
  • Partner with teams globally to align on best practises. Improve data delivery efficiency and accuracy. Utilise analytics to drive data optimisation. Develop and refine quality processes that promote data integrity within the business
  • Identify, sponsor, and manage key operational improvements. Ensure robust sponsorship of projects/initiatives whilst providing leadership and planning for the future infrastructure

Qualifications

  • To hit the ground running in this role you’ll have experience of the asset management industry with knowledge in the outsourced service area covering operational service delivery and client expectations
  • Industry awareness of the outsourced service area and regulations governing it with experience in managing and overseeing 3rd party relationship service delivery
  • Experience in managing operational service matters, awareness of LGIM risk and control framework
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly and concisely in both written and verbal communications
  • Customer oriented skills to understand service recipient needs and expectations
  • Lead from the front to drive delivery, whilst sustaining the provision of analytical rigor without getting overly caught up in the detail.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences and convey a vision to staff/department
  • Strong influencing skills in managing relationship / client service engagement
