The role at a glance:
Working on a hybrid basis into our London office, you'll be sitting in the Legal & General Group Secretariat team and working with a range of senior stakeholders, you will be responsible for supporting the team in providing a full governance and company secretarial service to Legal & General Group Plc and its subsidiary companies. This is a good introductory role for someone looking to progress their company secretarial career, offering a wide range of experience across the business including a portfolio of Board/Committee exposure.
What you'll be doing:
Providing company secretarial assistance to the chartered company secretaries within the department ensuring that all entities remain fully compliant with the provisions of the Companies Act 2006 and where relevant, compliance with all aspects of the UK Corporate Governance Code, regulatory requirements and the FCA’s Listing, Disclosure and Transparency Rules
Assisting with the arrangements and logistics of a portfolio of Group and subsidiary Board and Committee meetings including but not limited to:
Assisting with governance projects that will improve the governance standards across the Group e.g. constitutional document updates, legal entity rationalisation projects, reviews of subsidiary governance frameworks and regular verification of Diligent Entities and statutory records.
Providing assistance on all Board/entity related matters. This includes but is not limited to:
Become a key point of contact within the team for all internal stakeholder queries.
Qualifications:
Requirement to complete the Chartered Governance Institute’s qualifying scheme or studying towards qualification
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the Companies Act 2006 and UK Corporate Governance Code
Experience:
Experience of the core fundamentals of a Company Secretarial role including minute writing desirable, but not essential
