What we are looking for
We are looking for a current student / placement year student to join our State Street Global Markets (SSGM) team to support the Foreign Exchange Trading Services team in the EMEA region. The perfect candidate is a confident self-starter with strong communication and technical skills looking for an opportunity to help support a thriving FX Trading and Sales department.
The Foreign Exchange (FX) Front Office Trading Services (FOTS) team provides support across the globe (North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific) for State Street Global Market’s FX Sales & Trading Desks and acts as the primary liaison for external and internal clients. In addition to trading support and client services, the team works closely with Operations groups and participates on projects related to new trading initiatives, testing and implementation planning.
Responsibilities
Member of the FOTS team that would be responsible for assisting SSGM Sales & Trading and external clients with trade support and related responsibilities.
Lead technical client implementations for Algo, eFX, StreetFX and IndirectFX products (Front Office components)
Research and resolve trade related inquiries from Sales and Trading, back office, fund groups, and clients.
Working closely with the product teams and providing feedback to improve the stability of eFX platform
Monitoring SSGM’s trading systems and address/resolve issues with appropriate escalations.
Communicate and maintain strong working relationships with multiple departments (Trading, Operations, Finance, IT, third party vendors) to resolve breaks and trade discrepancies on a time sensitive basis.
Participate in various projects that require involvement with end-to-end testing of new functionality or future support.
Understand the intricacies of manual and/or exceptional processes on the FX desk and work with IT, Credit & Compliance, Operations and Business Analysis teams to improve process inefficiencies.
Be a great team player communicating and collaborating with the local and overseas members working as one global team.
Liaise with Client Support Services team with queries relating to the on-boarding of new business.
Periodic review and updates to the team’s controls and procedures to reduce risk to Business.
Qualifications
Currently studying for university degree
Candidates must be able to work on a full-time basis from March 2024 for 6 to 12 months as part of a year in industry or other industry placement.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship skills
Strong willingness to learn systems, processes, and new technical skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and under own initiative as well.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a deadline driven environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Very strong attention to detail
