The expectation of the working team leader is to support the AMS production line, creating a trusting and engaging team environment that complies with all the EH&S policies. Responsible for team performance management, the role requires the support and adherence to MRP build schedules, identification of key shortages and the ability to liaise with SIOP to mitigate risk to build plans and product LOBs through the Production Supervisor. The Working Team Leader must possess the necessary enthusiasm, drive and desire to succeed and discipline to achieve significant business results for the organisation occasionally being required to carry out tasks outside their normal reemit, so flexibility is essential.
Responsibilities:
Coordinating shop staff & workflow to achieve the customer’s schedule
Coordinate team meetings / communication flow downs
Purchase materials, tools, equipment, and consumables when required.
Motivate and drive a positive team work ethic and environment
Maintain on time finishes to achieve zero overdue
Control work in progress and value stream inventory through SIOP team
Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines.
Achieve the highest possible visual, 5S results for the workplace
Improve Utilization / productivity / day worked metrics
Achieve standard times and process time reduction through assisting and improvement opportunities conducted with the Manufacturing team
Responsible for ensuring strict adherence of all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies.
Assist process robustness and audit compliance accuracy
Assist Senior Operators in developing and maintaining the skills matrix
Supervising the work of junior staff and organizing training and staff development opportunities
Lead the Tier 1 / 2 reviews, to include a real time problem resolution mindset
Minimize departmental downtime through robust TPM schedules and ownership
Support EH&S compliance and CORE improvement
Minimum Requirements:
Apprentice trained City & Guilds or equivalent / time served experience, HNC in an engineering discipline.
