Job Description
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate leadership and commitment to HSEQ. Actively encourage and lead the HZI and contractor teams to implement and comply with project HSEQ requirements
Ensure that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management, HSE and commissioning team, HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable
Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements, and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS
Responsible for the safety and HSE performance of all personnel under his control, and for stopping work where this might be compromised
Prepare and issue permits to Work and system isolations for works within the shift
Ensure that works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time requirements
Independently operate, monitor, and maintain systems according to the scope of responsibility, in the control room and on site
Update and maintain shift logs and maintenance regimes
Optimise processes in collaboration with the HZI Commissioning Team
Supervises both the client shift personnel and the work performed by suppliers during operation
Execute hands on training with the client personnel
Liaise and coordinate with other project team members, in particular the Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Lead Engineers
Records all operational events in the shift logbook according to HZI protocol
Participate in regular control tours throughout the plant according to the HZI site tour protocol
Report any variations and issues to the Commissioning Manager
Deliver Lessons Learned and feedback for current and future projects
Keep the Commissioning Manager / Site Manager informed of all site-related activities
Qualifications
Job specific qualification:
Mechanical Occupation, Technician
Experienced as a leader in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) management and has knowledge of relevant HSEQ legal requirements
Must have Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent
Valid Safety Contractors Certificate (SCC) or equivalent
Experience working with and leading Permit-To-Work process during the Shift
DCS system knowledge
Experience on HZI or UK EfW plants an advantage
Operator SAP qualifications of Mechanical or Electrical systems an advantage.
Minimum 5 to 10 years cumulatively in power generation, with minimum 2 to 5 years as a Control Room Operator (CRO), preferably in plants utilizing waste as fuel, mass burn, or fossil fuel technology, with proven knowledge of power plant equipment and systems. Supervisory experience preferred. English: basic knowledge
ASME/pressure vessel operation certified.
