Groundsman – Royal Berkshire Shooting School
(Permanent, Full-Time)
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
Working alongside the Senior Groundsman and reporting to the Grounds Manager, this person is responsible for the maintenance of the Shooting Grounds, clay traps, tools and equipment, to enable us to offer visitors to the site a safe, consistent and high quality experience.
Key responsibilities:
To ensure that all traps, automatic and manual are readily maintained, serviced and operational at all times.
To carry our weekly checks on neighbouring land and footpaths for spent shot/clay pigeons.
To have the manual dexterity sufficient to safely use equipment and tools, included but not limited to: lawn mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, leaf blowers, chainsaws etc
To be able to personally trap all manual traps and present clay sequences to the required standard.
Manage the processing of all PRB generated waste
To ensure that on all days (on staff rotation), the shooting lodge is ready for clients to be received
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
The successful candidate would ideally have a working knowledge of game shooting and conservation as well as a high level of maturity.
As part of this role, you will be required to lift 40Ibs from ground. Ability to lift, pull, twist, and squat repeatedly is needed.
They will need to be a good communicator, a team player and be proactive.
They will need to respect company property and report damage to equipment in a timely manner.
A current valid UK driving license
The ability to apply for current valid UK shotgun certificate
