Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineering Specialist will:
• Develop plans and implement solutions for continuous process improvement using sound engineering principles with a primary focus on increasing OEE while reducing waste.
• Be involved in all process-engineering aspects for the manufacturing plant; must be able to work in a collaborative environment.
• Participate and assist in design of process related capital projects and safety improvements.
• Evaluate and solve problems as they occur, recommending and implementing improvements as needed related to the production process.
• Have the ability to interpret data to drive process development and growth through new product and process design.
• Lead, facilitate, execute and manage projects.
• Work with Operations, QA, and Engineering personnel to develop and implement production methods and controls in accordance with applicable industry standards in the most cost effective manner in support of schedule requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Strengths:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Mechatronics
• AutoCAD and SolidWorks experience an asset.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office; Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. High functioning level of excel would be considered an asset.
• Ability to develop best practices that improve plant efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and the leadership team.
• Solid organization, change management and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment, critical thinking skills and the ability to make difficult, time sensitive decisions.
• Ability to work according to tight schedules and timelines, managing process flow and function well independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule to support a multiple-shift operation.
• You must be able to touch and work with pork, chicken and beef products and work in hot and cold environments.
• Must have a valid passport with the ability to travel internationally as required.
