Sitting within our broader Strategy and Corporate Affairs function, our sustainable business team is both the architect and guardian of Britvic’s sustainability strategy.   This leadership role plays a critical and integrating part of the global sustainability team, primarily accountable for ESG reporting both internally and externally, as we progress Healthier People, Healthier Planet strategies to become the most dynamic soft drinks company, creating a better tomorrow.

 

Key to this role is ensuring Britvic is able to comply with current and planned UK, European and International non-financial reporting requirements, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS S1 and S2), European Sustainability reporting standards (ESRS), and ESG indices (including CDP, Sustainalytics, MSCI, CDP, EcoVadis).

 

The internal facing element of this role involves monthly and quarterly reporting of sustainable business performance, equipping and advising key senior stakeholders with the insight and information they need to inform decision making and identify areas of continuous improvement.  The role needs to work cross-functionally with teams from across the global business to develop strategies that create a better tomorrow, supporting brands, business units (BUs) and sites to operational the respective strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Subject matter expert on current and emerging non-financial reporting regulations, working closely with finance colleagues to meet non-financial reporting requirements eg. IFRS S1 & S2, SECR, ESRS
  2. Accountable for data management, analysis and reporting of sustainability metrics across the group, working closely with business units to ensure best practice data reporting processes and systems are in place and supporting with solution development where not 
  3. Lead the transformation of Britvic’s approach to sustainability planning and reporting across finance, strategy, IT and the broader business.
  4. Act as Sustainability champion leading the organisation's drive to improve its sustainability performance across all activities, driving a cultural and behavioural change throughout the organisation
  5. Building and leveraging strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to collect data and insights to inform performance reporting and strategy development. 
  6. Reviewing and critiquing our approach to sustainability reporting and make recommendations for continual improvement

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  1. Highly numerate, Results-driven, collaborative and a ‘can-do’ attitude, a self-starter with a strong bias to action
  2. Strong ability to frame strategic or complex issues in a clear and compelling way
  3. In-depth knowledge of key environmental and social challenges facing the sector along with a passion for sustainability.
  4. Excellent communicator (written and verbal) and influencer across all levels, functions and business units
  5. Highly competent in corporate carbon foot-printing, particularly with Scope 3 analysis
  6. Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment process and systems is a plus 
     

Qualifications:

  1. Preferably an academic qualification linked to sustainability or accounting (degree level or above).
  2. Ideally language skills, particularly French or Portuguese.
