IMPORTANT: This is a fixed term contract for 10 months, may extend to 12 months.
We are looking to hire a Berth & Asset Planner at our Immingham dock to provide support and development of the daily & strategical planning element of the IP department. The IP project is to build on the success of the Central Planning Function for full accountability for all port operative resource and build the capability across berth and asset management.
Accountabilities
Create a flexible/competent ABP workforce that delivers the optimum service at the optimum cost
Develop an environment where human, plant & asset resource match existing and new business requirements
Provide the tools, structure and environment to enable ABP to become the best in service team
Build and develop effective forecasting requirements (7days+)
Support the allocation of appropriately skilled ABP & 3PL resource to equal demand
Liaise with Commercial & Financial departments to understand the up-and-coming projects, enabling IP to have the optimum requirements in place
Establish an asset availability log/status, which enables the effective planning of availability and service scheduling
Work closely with Operations to build and develop planning tools and operational templates for vessel/rail and landside activities
Fulfil the planning, forecasting, coordinating, and reporting requirements of Operations (IP)
Create daily/weekly resource allocation and management resource allocation, efficiency, productivity, utilization; in relation to all the different working arrangements/configurations
Create, implement, and maintain KPI’s, dashboards and adhoc reports
Develop and maintain an asset availability schedule
Identify and manage resource gaps
Promote continuous improvement and process standardisation within the department
Ensure all compliance measures are maintained and promote a safe working environment
Liaise with ABP departments to develop a strategical approach to support our values and six strategical pillars.
Support the team in order to deliver our internal/external SLAs, with support from the AOPM
Skills, experiences, qualifications, and competencies
Essential
Good standard of education including Level 2 literacy and numeracy, or equivalent
Extensive experience of Microsoft Office and strong working knowledge of excel related functionalities (Macros, Pivot tables etc)
Administration experience
Capacity to work with limited supervision, to make decisions and work on own initiative
Ability to work in a busy environment, working to deadlines on multiple actions
Effective communication skills, to deal tactfully and sensitively with people at all levels
Excellent listening skills
Good organisational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to get to and from the terminals across the Humber on a regular basis
Your hours will be Monday – Friday, 40 hours a week 8:30 – 16:30.
