Our Southampton port is the largest export port in the UK providing a critical link to our goal of Keeping Britain Trading! Annually we handle 900,000 vehicles, accepting 2 million cruise passengers, and handle exports in excess of £40Bn through the 3rd largest container terminal in the UK. In the last 12 months we've also taken over the Operations of additional marine Terminals at Solent Gateway (Marchwood Military Port) which has greatly increased our project portfolio.
We're looking to recruit a Project Engineer into a newly created role to cover projects across our Southampton ports, focusing heavily on the Civil Engineering side. Managing projects valued between £50k to £20m, budgeted from both a CAPEX and OPEX perspective you'll be an experienced Civils Project Manager or Engineer who has worked extensively on infrastructure works. Working on a variety of assets from 150 year old masonry dock walls, road and rail bridges, large portal frame sheds, rail, surfacing and jetties, this role has huge variety.
Recent projects delivered by this team include a £15m container to rail facility and £20m capital dredge to widen the navigation channel. You should hold a Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or similar subject, as well as experience of delivering your own projects. A strong commitment to Health and Safety is essential and you'll have experience of overseeing contractor and consultant works on similar sized projects.

• PC Literate with experience in Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills and team working skills
• An enthusiastic and confident nature
• Chartered member or working towards (ideal)
