The role/The team:

As a Privacy and Compliance Manager, you will oversee the operation of the data protection function, and management of data protection risk. You will provide business-oriented support covering data protection, and associated compliance areas.  

 

Working independently or with local business leaders, the role will aim at constantly improving and maintaining a robust culture of data protection management.

 

The role will report into the Head of Financial Compliance, though work closely with the General Counsel, legal team, and DPO.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • With support from the DPO, manage the Group’s approach to data incident and breach response for suspected incidents or breaches, including collaboration with all key stakeholders (e.g. Legal, BISO, IT and HR as required).
  • Provide tools, resources, and support to team members, fostering an environment where they can thrive and excel.
  • Implementing new processes and technology solutions for the continuous improvement of data protection.
  • Provide management information (including data breach investigations, data subject rights requests, DPIAs and emerging risks) to the DPO and leadership to inform strategy and ensure transparency.
  • With support from the DPO, manage any suspected data incidents or breaches.
  • Act as an internal point of contact for productions in relation to best practice data protection processes. This includes maintaining associated template documents and privacy notices for production use.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with members of the Compliance and Legal teams, providing support where required.

 

Policy Development

  • Maintain global policies, standards, guidance and associated documentation, updating with new legislative requirements as required.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance in policy enforcement and updates.

 

Privacy Training

  • Create data protection training materials, including high risk role training as appropriate.

 

Compliance

  • Support the Head of Financial Compliance with compliance areas as required, such as supporting with training for anti-corruption, competition law, and anti-tax evasion.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in data protection and compliance management, within a multinational company or consulting firm.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Compliance, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in data protection management, with a focus on GDPR.
  • Strong policy development and implementation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to direct/influence resources not directly under control through being collaborative.
  • Demonstrates a systematic approach to resolving issues and identifying improvements.
  • Ability to start a project from scratch, to think “outside of the box” and deliver on the project with minimal oversight. A strong self-starter/finisher spirit is essential in this role.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Certification in data protection/privacy qualification such as CIPP is highly desirable.
