Digital Workplace Developer at Bertelsmann
London, United Kingdom

Job Descrption

Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with a passion for improving workplace technology?

If so, join our dynamic and innovative Digital Workplace Technology team as a Digital Workplace Developer. In this permanent role, you will play a key part in managing, improving, and automating workplace technology to enhance the way we work.

As a Digital Workplace Developer, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs, design and build technology solutions, predominantly using the Microsoft Power Platform, to drive process improvements and automation. Your work will directly impact our Technology division’s operations, driving efficiency and innovation across Penguin Random House UK.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Power Platform and developing a governance framework in alignment with Penguin Random House's security policies.

  • Leading the development of a pipeline of automation apps and devise a strategy to facilitate citizen development throughout the organisation.

  • Utilising Microsoft 365 for automation and orchestration of processes, alongside PowerShell for process automation.

  • Supporting the Digital Workplace Business Analyst in engaging with the business, providing in-depth technical knowledge of M365.

  • Designing, testing, and building solutions to address business challenges, while conducting problem analysis.

  • Contributing to the Digital Workplace Architectural Roadmap and staying updated on new releases within M365 to identify opportunities for Penguin Random House.

  • Working in an Agile manner and offering services to enable other Technology teams to embrace Agile practices.

What you will bring:

  • Extensive expertise in utilising Microsoft 365 Power Platform, including PowerAutomate and PowerApps, with a focus on both Model and Canvas driven applications.

  • Proven experience in effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, with the ability to interpret technical issues expressed by non-technical individuals.

  • Strong written communication skills to comprehensively document all implemented solutions, as well as the ability to strategise at a high level for continual improvement of the Digital Workplace.

  • Familiarity with ITIL and Agile team environments, along with experience working with Jira for project management.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell, both for integrating with M365 and on-premise resources, and working with the Microsoft Graph API.

  • Demonstrated capability to work under pressure, with a track record of problem-solving skills.

Our approach to hybrid working:

We’re currently experimenting with hybrid working and involving colleagues across the business to shape our future ways of working. The needs of our teams and individuals are different, so we’re not taking a one-size-fits-all approach. While our offices are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility about where you work is just as important for doing your best work and for your wellbeing.

For this role, there are meetings and activities that you will need to attend in-person, mainly at our offices in London or Colchester. The exact balance of office to remote working will depend on the nature of your role and team needs, and we are open to discussing this through the recruitment process.

About Penguin:

We’re the UK’s largest publisher; made up of some 2,000 people and publishing over 1,500 books each year. Our doors are open to all kinds of talent. In a constantly evolving industry, we work hard to stretch the definition of the word publisher. Here, you’ll work with a breadth of talent who all play their part to make each of our books a success. Together, we make books for everyone because a book can change anyone.

Please apply with your CV and cover letter by 11:59pm on Monday 25th March.

What you can expect from us:

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
