Contract: Perm

Latest Closing Date: 12th April 2024. Please note, we may close vacancies early where we receive significant numbers of applications, so don’t delay!

As the nation’s leading pub, cider and beer company and the name behind a host of brilliant brands, we’re looking for equally brilliant people to help us on our journey to shaping a better future.

There’s never been a more exciting time to join our site in Manchester. We’re firmly planted in the community thanks to several investments in the site over the past few years.

Our brewery remains a pivotal part of our UK supply chain network and brings to life the likes of Foster’s, Birra Moretti, Cruzcampo and the jewel in our crown, Heineken. We’re delighted to have been given the quality seal of approval from Amsterdam to make Heineken on our site – and as a bonus, we’re making our carbon footprint smaller in the process.

What’s the role?
Reporting directly to the Brewery Director and as part of the Site Leadership Team, our Head of Packaging is a pivotal departmental lead role for Heineken Manchester, as we continue to raise the bar to meet global HEINEKEN standards where TPM (Total Productive Management) and continuous improvement are fundamental.  This role has a large budget and people responsibilities which span across 3 packaging lines: high-speed kegging, and two high-speed lines in canning.

We expect supportive leadership over control, and you will use your coaching and mentoring experience to create innovative ways to support your team to thrive and work more productively and effectively.

Heineken Manchester has a great future ahead of us and we have an exciting change agenda that you will be part of. Having already overseen significant change programmes yourself, you will have both the technical and management abilities to steer a team through change initiatives, inspiring others to achieve great results.

You will also be a major influence on the rest of the site. You will add value as a member of the site leadership team, with your continuous improvement mindset and positive attitude towards collaboration. This will be key as you work to align your objectives with your peers in Brewing, Quality, TPM, Engineering and Logistics, to achieve overall targeted business results.

What we’re looking for?

We are looking for an experienced leader with experience in FMCG/manufacturing and recognised qualifications, however, what is more, important to us is your operational leadership and people management skills and experience with similar complexity and size.

On top of a can-do attitude and safety-focused outlook, you may also have:

  • Problem-solving mindset with experience in Continuous Improvement (Lean, ManEx, TPM, Six Sigma)
  • IBD Packaging qualification (Not required but a bonus!)
  • Strong motivational qualities
  • Effective communicator
  • Previous experience in high-performing teams

Our benefits and rewards

  • Annual bonus,
  • Company-funded Private Medical Healthcare
  • Double-matched pension (up to 10%),
  • 35 days holiday (holiday trading available)
  • Retail discounts
  • A monthly case of our delicious ciders and beers (low and no alcohol options available)
  • Unique learning and development opportunities

…And much more! Check out our Why Join Us page if you’d like more information.

You’ll also get the opportunity to join our colleague networks, in which people from across the business connect to help champion diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring we’re continuing to give people a voice.

The application

If you like what you’ve read and are ready to brew a better career with us, let’s get going! We may close vacancies early where we receive lots of applications, so don’t delay!

If you need any adjustments made to support your application, for example if you require information in different formats, or if you have any accessibility issues, then we’re more than happy to review our processes – please feel free to get in touch with us at recruitment@heineken.co.uk.

You might feel that you don’t meet every single requirement for this role, and that’s okay – we all need the opportunity to develop and untap our full potential.

If this advert piqued your interest, we’d encourage you to submit an application rather than ruling yourself out. You never know – you may be exactly what we’re looking for!

Who we are

We’re the world’s most international brewer and the name behind a host of brilliant beers and ciders, from Birra Moretti, to Strongbow, to Cruzcampo and many more.

When you join us, we’ll back you to reach your full potential. You’ll enjoy unique development opportunities, unforgettable experiences and a reward package that goes far beyond the salary you receive.
