Department overview

Nomura's Global Markets Division handles client transactions for financial institutions, corporates, governments and investment funds around the world. We act as market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates and credit in cash, derivatives and structured products. Role Description:

To contribute to the timely publication of accurate research (equity, strategy, economics, quant) by supporting the global translation team (mainly Japanese-English, but some English-Japanese). Please note that this is not a translation role.

 

Main responsibilities are to prepare report templates, produce exhibits, and perform layout of reports using an in-house developed workflow system and the Microsoft Office suite of products. You will also handle various aspects of quality control.

 

You will form part of a global team located in Tokyo, London, and New York. Communication and collaboration are vital to the role as you will be dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders.

 

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

The successful candidate:

  • Has a native-level command of Japanese with proficiency in English

  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or has a desire to become proficient in their use

  • Is a team player and sensitive to cultural norms in a diverse firm

  • Is a good communicator, listener, and collaborator

  • Is flexible and keen to learn

  • Direct experience of working in the securities industry is a plus but not required.
