What does Community Affairs do?
Nomura’s EMEA Community Affairs programme is focused on supporting disadvantaged and underrepresented young people in the local communities in which we operate. Nomura takes a strategic approach to Community Affairs, predominately directing our efforts towards a key strategic charity partnership which delivers the most meaningful and sustainable impact.
With support from all levels of the business, Community Affairs EMEA delivers a range of social impact initiatives, predominately focused on social mobility and employability, which aims to change the lives of young people in our local communities.
The Corporate Communications department is the central function that co-ordinates the internal and external communications activities of Nomura in EMEA to safeguard its corporate reputation. The team is made up of four functions; Media Relations (covering corporate and business media relations), Internal Communications, Community Affairs and Brand Marketing.
The Role:
Working in a busy Corporate Communications department, you’ll oversee Nomura’s Community Affairs programme in the EMEA region. You’ll report directly into the Head of Corporate Communications, EMEA, Americas, and work closely with the Head of Internal and External Communications, EMEA, as well as other senior internal stakeholders, to lead on the development, communication, planning, management, evaluation and reporting of the Community Affairs function.

Experience Required:
We’ll be looking for you to have extensive experience leading community impact programmes in a complex matrix organisation. You will have an excellent understanding of and interest in social mobility and/or employability and other social issues as well as the business rationale behind corporate community involvement and the wider CSR agenda.
We’ll be looking for you to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on detail. You’ll feel comfortable managing relationships across all levels of the business, including Board level stakeholders.
