What You’ll do (the role)
Summary
Lightsource bp is in a period of significant growth and has just delivered a strategic optimisation project to refresh the systems we use in our core business functions. At the heart of this modernisation is the delivery of a new SAP S/4HANA PCE system that has created a new digital core for our business operations within Lightsource bp. This builds on top of the recent delivery of the SAP Success Factors HR system.
The SAP Finance System Analyst role within IT will support the SAP Finance System Manager & Head of Business Systems by fulfilling a wide range of duties which support the development and operation of the Finance Systems. This will include business support, system analysis, training and implementation of new developments.
The ideal candidate will be currently working as an SAP Finance System Analyst on BAU activities and will have had recent hands-on experience of a variety of SAP solutions inc. SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Concur, SAP Ariba, SAP Treasury Risk Management, SAP Multi Bank Connectivity, Invoice Management with OpenText and SAP Lease, Contract & Real Estate Management.
Core Responsibilities
- Day to day support of the SAP ERP system and finance end users including responsibility for regular operational processes
- Ability to create, define & deliver regular SAP ERP top-up training to finance end users.
- Maintain the SAP Enable Now Training with consultation with Finance process specialists
- Act as a liaison between finance end users and managed service support and maintenance team to ensure defects and small changes are properly documented and delivered
- Lead on small to medium sized finance systems change projects
- Ensuring integrity of the system and ensuring all users have the correct access
- System administrator for the Finance system including:
- creating, reviewing and approving access to finance systems;
- maintenance/creation of static/master data including Company Codes, Accounts, Centres;
- Manage Accounting Periods (e.g. Open and Close);
- Year end rollover of balances; and
- Maintenance & creation of Master Data
- First line of support for queries from end users in the SAP system
- Ownership of segregation of duties in SAP, including preparation of reports to verify and evidence compliance.
- Quarterly review of SAP access for all users with Finance roles
- Ensure Delegation Operational Control (Approval) tables in SAP for Purchase Requisitions & Invoices are accurately maintained.
- Perform regular system health checks and assist with any associated analysis and remediation activities.
- Assist with External or Internal Audit queries relating to SAP data and system operation
- Develop and deliver training to finance users and recommend SAP standard approaches to meet their team requirements
- Liaison between finance users and IT dev team, including writing of requirements for any system enhancements/new builds
- First line testing of newly implemented system enhancements
- Identifying opportunities to streamline finance processes involving the SAP system
- Act as a super user for all system functionality
- Perform E2E process simulation within Test Environment (where required).
- Manage the refresh of the Test and Development System
- Systems administration/maintenance.
- Propose and deliver innovative solutions to improve processes
- Being the go-to person on systems development and issues
- Resolve day to day queries and issues occurring on the system, communicating any issues to users
- Lead specific system improvements and transformation including systemising manual processes.
- Build, test and maintain system reports
- Maintain the systems and processes including documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Architecture Diagrams and Checklists)
Who we’re looking for
Experience& Knowledge
- Currently working as an experienced SAP Consultant or Finance System Analyst.
- Strong understanding and experience of the following SAP solutions inc. SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP Concur, SAP Ariba, SAP Treasury Risk Management, SAP Multi Bank Connectivity, Invoice Management with OpenText and SAP Lease, Contract & Real Estate Management.
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel and other similar tools to analyse & blend data as part of the mechanism to analyse or present a story.
- A good level of core business experience covering Finance (mandatory), Procurement & HR (desirable) Systems
