WHAT TO EXPECT
In this position you will be responsible for leading the Service Attribute process within Technology Creation & Development System (TCDS) research working group to support early failure mode avoidance processes ahead of vehicle or forward model programs. You will play a key part in ensuring new technologies are delivered efficiently, effectively and in a robust manner to satisfy our downstream customers, National Sales Companies, importers, retailers and end users, as well as legal, regulatory and corporate needs.
You will support the wider customer service business within JLR Unit Process development, making sure the requirements are aligned correctly for each gateway to meet the business expectations. In addition to this, you will also review new technology projects ahead of gateway submissions to ensure risk assessments and challenges are fully understood in order to support future downstream planning.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
In this role, you will Benchmark new technologies with other premium OEMs to identify competitive service targets when possible, as well as using associated industry data.
Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Capture service requirements to ensure that customer needs are considered for total life costs, not just warranty period, technology that won’t damage the reputation of the brands as reason not to buy, difficult and expensive to repair
Ensuring service component costs and labour times are available at ‘concept ready’ gateway
Report project status and risks in Service Commercial group as required to escalate
Liaise with other departments as ‘fact holders’ marketing, diagnostics, parts pricing, warranty, retailer special tooling and retailer training
Responsible for driving improvements in service via lessons learnt from previous new technologies introduction
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential:
Significant knowledge of vehicle technology including new trends ADAS, Connectivity, Electrification, Health and safety standards, Mobility Services business models
Detailed understanding of automotive quality and continuous improvement process
Proficient in presenting issues at multiple levels in the business to drive understanding, provide resolutions and meet objectives
Knowledge of CAD and related standards and tools
Experience interfacing with the Service and Repair sector, including an understanding of franchised retailers, their needs and drivers
