WHAT TO EXPECT
The Compliance and Quality team's role is to ensure that the facilities we test our vehicles on at Whitley comply with global legislation for all regions that we sell vehicles to.
The Compliance Engineer will operate across the facility to ensure compliance so that we are able to provide the capability to make measurements and deliver tests to fulfil stakeholders’ test requirements.
They will seek to improve operations by appropriate involvement in challenging redundant practices and using a flexible approach. The main activities need strong technical capability and require critical and analytical reasoning, robust planning, co-ordination and control of own workload.
As a Compliance Engineer, you will be supporting a wide range of engineering customers, skilled test facility operators, suppliers, external agencies and organisations in order to provide continuity of testing and assurance that our facility and output meet the requirements of established international standards for laboratory accreditation.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
● Take responsibility of global compliance of the Chassis Dynamometer, Evaporative Emissions and Real Driving Emissions test facilities
● Support conducting facility appraisals and audits.
● Liaise with local and international test authorities and government agencies.
● Writing and publishing of new processes and/or refining existing processes to maintain facilitate adherence.
● Project ownership, planning and delivery of quality test outputs.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
● Level 6 qualification in an Engineering or Science discipline (or equivalent experience)
● Experience in interpreting and conducting facility appraisals for legislation such as EU 2017/1151, ECE Reg 83/101, NAS 40 CFR 1066/1065 for Chassis Dynamometer, Evaporative, and Real Driving Emissions testing.
● Good working knowledge of equipment used for emissions determination testing for type approval.
● Experience of planning and following through with the successful execution within a testing environment
● Experience of working with and following defined procedures and processes
● Experience of data analysis and visualisation using software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau or PowerBI.
● Some evidence of skill in fault finding and resolution, problem analysis and root-cause identification
● Knowledge of company Health and Safety requirements, Risk Assessment, COSHH and MSDS
● Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and proven skills in producing plans, presentations, graphs and processes.
