Grundfos is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Commercial Building Services team as a Specification Manager. The successful candidate will focus on specifications in London and the South East, assisting us to drive profitable sales growth and advance our mission to provide innovative and sustainable solutions while delivering quality service to our clients. What is the job About? 

Our successful candidate will be responsible for delivering profitable business growth for Grundfos through specification-based sales and consultant accounts. They will sell the main Grundfos Commercial Building Services (CBS) product portfolio and Engineered to Order (ETO) equipment, exceed defined sales targets, and maintain an accurate CRM database to support sales and customer management.  

 

Key responsibilities of a Specification Manager include:   

  •  Playing an integral part in the business unit sales team, providing commercial and technical input to accelerate growth in UK. 

  • Collaborating with GB Sunderland to develop new Engineered to Order (ETO) product range and assist with release to sell/product launch. 

  • Conducting site surveys of installed pumps and utilising Energy Survey and Pump Audit tools to identify potential energy savings, developing customer survey reports and selecting most efficient solution. 

  • Ensuring maintenance of our CRM package to meet business and customer needs for all local activities associated with Customer Relationship Management. 

  • Maximizing our sales efforts by understanding the markets we sell into, working with management and customer base. 

  • Monitoring product sales and KPIs to ensure we are on track to deliver our budgets and taking corrective action as required. 

  • Continually improving controls and implementing process improvements to reduce non-added value work. 

  • Engaging and delivering product knowledge, application, and troubleshooting skills to customers. 

  • Delivering effective presentations using PowerPoint through CPDs to support our sales efforts. 

  • Maintaining pricing support mechanisms utilised by the business. 

  • Monitoring competitors' product releases/upgrades to stay informed. 

  • Engaging in customer relationship maintenance by working out of hours, entertaining and traveling as required. 

  •  Promoting and driving demand for Grundfos Core and new products awareness with M&E Consultants and understanding of future legislative changes regarding pump efficiency. 

 

What do you need to apply? 

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and qualities:  

  • High degree of technical knowledge, ideally within pumps, pump applications, installation and operation. 

  • Knowledge and experience in the Commercial Building Services Industry  

  • Ability to operate at all levels both internally and with customers 

  • Confidence and articulation with expert communication and negotiation skills 

  • A self-starter with a proactive approach, able to work on their own initiative 

  • Understanding of business practices and ethics, while operating within the Grundfos Values 

  • Commitment and enthusiasm above the average 

  • Ability to work in a demanding and ever-changing environment where meeting time deadlines are a priority 

  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills 

  • Proven ability to identify areas for improvement and drive methodical process improvement 

  • Goal-oriented mindset, delivering  positivel results 

  • Thrives in a business with a strong sales culture. 

  • Working knowledge of SAP CRM/BW would be beneficial
