GXO is currently seeking a talented and driven individual for the role of Transport Manager, to support our Shared user site in Rotherham.  You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective running of the transport operation, ensure all legal transport requirements are fulfilled and that company fleet management policies are implemented correctly.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday, although some flexibility may be required during peak times – this is logistics after all!

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, taking appropriate measures to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment.
• Stay current on transportation laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks.
• Develop and implement processes and controls to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with legal counsel and regulatory bodies as necessary to address compliance issues and ensure proper licensing and permits.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven experience in a leadership role within the transportation or logistics industry.
• Experience in safety leadership, with the ability to promote a culture of safety, implementing effective safety protocols, and fostering continuous improvement in safety practices across transport operations.
• Strong knowledge of transportation operations, safety regulations, and legal compliance.
• Must hold an international CPC licence
• Ideally have a strong understanding of TAPA Certification
