We are recruiting for an Executive Director to join the ALM team within Europe Treasury Department
Profile Summary
London Branch is the largest of Mizuho Banks offices in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. It provides a range of corporate lending and deposit service as well as FX and derivatives across EMEA. Europe Treasury Department Banking is responsible for Asset and Liability Management operation, including managing EMEA’s interest rate risk and liquidity risk.
ETD BKG ALM Desk is responsible for treasury operation of London Branch, which includes executing each currency’s money market transactions and funding support for the continental offices. The desk is also responsible for liquidity management, maintaining relationships with liquidity providers, diversifying funding sources, quality reporting.
The desk is also responsible for SONIA Submission and its integrity of all our transaction data. The data underlying SONIA are collected on Form SMMD, under section 17 of the BOE Act 1998. ETD BKG ALM Desk staffs are required to attend the office on a rotation basis from 07:00 to adhere to plausibility checking requirements that BOE on occasion conducts.
This position will lead functional team in the delivery of services and manage some aspects of strategic plan of ALM and its implementation. It needs to identify new business, competitive strategies and methodologies to improve the quality of Mizuho’s business. In order to this, it also needs to carry out pipeline and project management activities in relation to ALM and liquidity management. It’s essential to develop a wide network in the Financial Institutions.
It will be responsible for introducing innovation to the design and delivery of new ideas, products, and services that support efficient and stable ALM solution. In addition to these, it’s required to execute Derivatives (such as IRS swaps), money market transactions, and new products in order to control the balance sheet and its interest/liquidity risks
Duties and Responsibilities
Leading functional team to achieve the team’s quantitative and qualitative goals.
Identify new business, competitive strategies and methodologies to improve the quality of Mizuho’s business.
Empower individuals to take responsibility for their goals.
Coach, mentor and develop the team in a positive and constructive manner.
Develop and utilise a wide network of business including a global network of contacts within Mizuho to align with global ALM strategy.
Supporting branches and subsidiaries.
Carrying out the banking operations with authorised products within the specified limits.
Maintain and enhance the networking with liquidity providers, regulators.
FTP control, balance sheet control, contingent liquidity control.
Complying with regulatory requirements.
Project management related to ETD BKG ALM desk.
Well monitoring risks across the B/S of EMEA as a front office.
Collecting necessary information of markets and regulations.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
Broad and sound knowledge/experience of market (money market, cross currency market, rates market, collateral finance & repo, and other capital market)
Experience of working in ALM and/or Treasury business in financial institution
Communication skills for team working
Presentation skills about strategy planning
Sound knowledge of regulations
Project and Task management skill

Bachelor Degree or equivalent
