The team:
Scotiabank’s Global Technology Enterprise Platforms (GTEP) - Operations and Engineering - Tools & Monitoring - Global Event Management System (GEMS) team is responsible for monitoring the availability and health of IT hardware, software, and network resources. GEMS automates the analysis of events, generates alerts, helps determine root cause and assigns Alerts & Incidents to the correct resource groups to restore affected services.
The role:
With a strong focus on IT Operations Management (ITOM), your primary role will include ensuring accurate and up-to-date configuration data, managing relationships between configuration items, and supporting the overall ITOM process. You will ensure the efficient and effective management of the logical structure and organization of databases (ServiceNow’s Configuration Management Database [CMDB]) within GEMS and will work closely with database architects, developers, and system administrators to design and implement logical database structures that meet business requirements and optimize performance.
In this role, as required, you can expect to provide extended support (after hours - 24x7) for engagement(s) in real-time troubleshooting & resolution of Priority 1/Major incidents.

You are adept at configuring & customizing the ServiceNow platform, specifically focusing on ITOM modules, such as Event Management, Discovery, Service Mapping & Orchestration.
You thrive on collaborating with stakeholders, including Infrastructure & Application Support Teams to gather requirements, align priorities, and drive successful ITOM initiatives.
You are eager to identify opportunities to enhance the ITOM capabilities of the ServiceNow platform by evaluating new features, conducting testing, and implementing upgrades or new modules to meet evolving business needs.
You embrace the opportunity to configure & customize the CMDB according to organizational requirements, including creating classes, attributes, and relationships.
You are prepared to develop and enforce data governance standards to ensure data integrity within the CMDB. This will be done by monitoring CMDB data quality, perform regular audits & address data inconsistencies and discrepancies.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
You possess effective communication (verbal/written/presentation) skills.
You can demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in designing/planning/implementing/integrating the ITOM toolkit (e.g., Commons Service Data Model [CSDM]) within the ServiceNow platform.
You can demonstrate an understanding of Public Cloud Infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud Platform and/or Microsoft Azure) & the use of ServiceNow Discovery and/or Service Mapping and/or other ServiceNow module(s) within it.
You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience with the configuration of ServiceNow’s Service Graph Connector.
You also have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience in the use of IntegrationHub ETL for Configuration Item (CI) collection into the CMDB.
You have completed a post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or in related Technology stream.
You have completed the ServiceNow Administration certification.
