General Accountabilities:
Responsible for developing and maintaining project / program schedules using the OPC (Oracle Primavera Cloud) scheduling tool related to transmission and distribution capital projects
Assist in field productivity analysis by providing planned/actual quantities for Construction projects in execution
Responsible for requesting / receiving status updates from various functional discipline leads and project managers; incorporating their status updates into the schedule; and presenting the output in a manner that facilitates the planning and execution of the project in line with project objectives
Responsible for identifying critical and near-critical paths as well as trends to help the project team stay on track and monitor detailed tasks
Responsible for assisting Construction & Commissioning Field staff with resource forecasts and analysis leveraging CPM schedules and various other tools as required
Assist in developing and maintaining project / program schedules using Oracle Primavera Cloud related to major, complex or high profile transmission and distribution capital projects.
Assist in the development of work methods and processes consistent with departmental Project Controls methodology
Show students, trainees or contract staff how to perform tasks and duties
Perform other duties as required
Selection Criteria:
Requires a good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with others and prepare technical reports.
Requires a university degree in Engineering or Business Management or college diploma in Engineering Technology and additional training or education
Requires hands on experience in scheduling & planning Construction & Commissioning work. A period of over 6 years is considered necessary to gain this experience
Requires experience related to the design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of transmission/distribution assets
Scheduling experience in transmission line and station projects or other linear project types is an asset
Experience in construction management or related field is an asset. Examples include: Understanding working drawings, preparing construction schedules for the full lifecycle of a project, project planning, estimating and project controls
Practical experience using the scheduling tool Oracle Primavera P6 or OPC & MS project is an asset
Experience with SAP is an asset
Experience in Lean Construction Scheduling practices is considered an asset
Essential Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office especially in Excel
Practical experience in developing schedule networks (Precedence Diagramming method) and the application of the Critical Path Method
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Requires performing a variety of duties under the usual business office conditions. Required to travel in support of site meetings for the various projects/programs assigned. This will at times include overnight stays due to distance of travel and to ensure safe conditions for travel.
