A look into the role
Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment.

The Purpose of the role:
As the People Development Partner, you'll collaborate closely with HR and other stakeholders to prioritize sustainable learning across the wider organization. By leveraging your expertise and creativity, and employing effective metrics, you'll design and deliver flexible learning opportunities that align with our values and business goals. 

 

Your main objective is to foster a culture of continuous learning, talent development, and employee engagement to propel organizational success.

 
Working as People Development Manager you will:
 
Learning and Development:

  • Coordinate and implement a comprehensive learning program aligned with talent management strategies, utilizing various delivery methods.

  • Collaborate with HR and managers to identify and address knowledge and skill gaps through needs analysis, coaching, and support.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in learning design and delivery, fostering organizational values and behaviour’s.

  • Cultivate a personal learning network for continuous professional development and gather external insights for internal improvement.

  • Implement personal development planning and self-directed learning aligned with performance management.

  • Utilize data to assess effectiveness and produce reports to support key performance indicators.

 

Digital Learning:

  • Promote digital learning tools and spaces among stakeholders.

  • Develop user-focused digital content and curate learning management system (LMS) content for continuous improvement.

  • Evaluate external content and guide purchasing decisions for the LMS.

  • Support LMS maintenance and administration.

 

Stakeholders and Suppliers:

  • Foster relationships across the organization to enhance collaboration and co-design.

 

Wellbeing, Diversity, and Inclusion:

  • Ensure inclusivity and accessibility in all learning and development activities.

  • Perform other business-related duties as necessary.        
     

Skills for Success
 
Joining us as People Development Manager the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
 

  • Third level qualification OR a professional certification in a relevant field OR An L&D qualification at level 5 or above 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role 

  • Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management and relationship building 

  • Experience of working with a variety of Learning Technologies 

  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Power Point

  • A Full valid UK/EU Driving License

 
The Attributes you’ll need include:

  • Ability to think strategically and translate business goals into actionable people initiatives.

  • Excellent written and communication skills, with evidence of the ability to exercise effective active listening and adapt style to suit the needs of the audience.  

  • Self-starter and work on own initiative

  • Agile and flexible in approach to work

 
It is Desirable if you have:

  • Previous experience of facilitating learning through a Learning Management System

  • Experience of content curation and curriculum development

  • Experience within FMCG

  • Member of CIPD

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday. Hybrid and flexible working arrangement available.
