A look into the role
Henderson Wholesale is a leading Wholesaler in Northern Ireland and supplies goods to over 450 stores across various brands such as SPAR, EUROSPAR and VIVO. We source from local farmers, growers and producers and are proud to contribute to our local economy and environment. Reporting directly to our Maintenance team leader, the successful applicant will maintain our businesses manual handling equipment to company standards while ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislations and regulations. Working closely with our Maintenance Supervisor and in-house operatives our MHE Engineer will be involved in the execution of planned preventative maintenance and response maintenance tasks enhancing a safe working environment onsite.
Working as an MHE Forklift Engineer you will:
• Use appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment install, repair/replace components to equipment and appliances.
• Select materials and install various electrical components associated with electrical installation and equipment.
• Carry out planned maintenance work in line with company requirements and manufacturers guidelines.
• Trouble shoot faults on manual handling equipment and replace defective hosing’s and components where required.
• Undertake and successfully complete electrical, plumbing and general building/maintenance tasks as required.
• Use and maintain all Personal Protective Equipment and clothing in accordance with company policy and statutory requirements.
• Carry out risk assessments prior to carrying out work duties.
Skills for Success
Joining us as an MHE Forklift Engineer the minimum criteria you’ll need is:
• Experience on servicing forklift trucks
• Experience of procurement of stock and spare parts
• Experience of manual handling
The Attributes you’ll need include:
• Well organised, with the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and adhere to deadlines
• Capable of working safely under own initiative.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment.
It is desirable if you have:
• Experience of diesel counterbalance trucks
• B-Tec electrical mechanical qualification
• City & Guilds Electrical installation or Electronics qualification
• Experience in Jungheinrich and Toyota mechanical equipment

This is a full-time position working 38 hours per week. Working hours will Monday to Thursday from 7am to 3:00pm and Friday from 7am to 3:30pm
