Provides the strategic development, direction and management of the company’s factory Direct Procurement functions, planning requirements and inventory management activities. Develops goals, metrics, timebound objectives and strategic plans for the Littleton factory and drives efficient, lean and streamlined procurement, planning and inventory management operations, with a customer centric focus. Controls function(s) to achieve an end result that supports departmental,business, and corporate goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Responsible for Littleton factory direct procurement function supporting the production operations with efficient on time direct material supply to meet operational requirements.
- Acts as the on-site representative for the global procurement, planning, logistics and warehousing teams for the Factory Leadership team as well as all issues arising where a decision-maker is required for challenges in achieving a factory build plan where the Littleton procurement team is involved.
- Manage procurement buyer to ensure effective requisition & PO management, planning, expediting and scheduling of materials supply as required at each factory location.
- Develop procurement processes and practices to ensure mitigation of excess & obsolete procured materials, developing effective communication and meeting cadence with cross functional teams where necessary.
- Ensure uniform governance of SAP procurement master data to maintain alignment across each of the factory location. Monitor, manage and control SAP data to support efficient factory operations.
- Develop strong supplier relations, ensuring effective management of supplier On-Time delivery performance.
- Communicate and alert operations team of material supply risks and associated recovery plans. Develop effective communications cadence across all factories and teams.
- Drive a positive culture of engagement, delivering the Terumo BCT core values and leading and inspiring in the culture of Terumo BCT.
- Ensure SOX compliance across the factory procurement functions.
- Develop departmental metrics and execute for desired results
- Provides leadership and direction on the best practices required to create, implement, maintain and standardize inventory and material management strategies for the supply chain network using inventory parameters to minimize carrying costs but ensuring customer service levels.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years procurement & managerial supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in SAP strongly preferred.
- Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver results positively impacting the procurement function.
- Knowledge of strategic procurement practices, including the impact upon the direct procurement factory function.
- Demonstrated expertise in leadership, managerial and strategic planning, including people development with a result driven focus on long term, strategic procurement goals.
- Demonstrated an exceptional understanding in the disciplines of material procurement within a global manufacturing environment.
- Ability to negotiate through complex situations with suppliers of direct material products.
- Requires basic knowledge of U.S. and international medical device regulations and standards.
- Requires excellent stakeholder management and the ability to develop and foster stakeholder relationships.
- Knowledge of current FDA regulatory and ISO requirements and trends affecting medical devices.
- Capability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
- Detailed understanding and experience implementing best practices and process development in procurement organisations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of SAP process development and best practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of procurement strategies, as well as continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Six-Sigma.
- Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an operational procurement organization.
- Knowledge about how inventory supports value in the network as well as risks and costs associated with inventory.
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Target Pay Range: $95,700.00 to $119,600.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 10.0%
