Position Overview:
As the Instructional Designer (Technical Training), you will be a key member of the Global Learning & Leadership Development team, reporting to the Manager, Learning & Development (Technical Training). You will contribute to the success of Ball by designing high-impact and cost effective synchronous and asynchronous learning solutions for company associates or other external associates who use Ball’s products or services.
Your Key Areas of Responsibilities Include:
Collaborate with key business partners to review/discuss learning needs. Conduct needs, content and learner analysis to translate opportunities into learning and skill building solutions: identify requirements and recommend training strategy, tools and timeline accordingly.
Utilize current learning design/development software as appropriate (e.g. Adobe Suite, Captivate, Articulate).
Design and develop learning solutions based on analysis and conduct content/material review sessions with client groups as needed; design overall learning curriculum by role (including custom solutions) and develop appropriate learning tools and processes as appropriate (including content maintenance/updates).
Understand and execute learning & development solutions with the organization’s objectives and employees’ personal goals and growth. Manage shifting and competing priorities with alignment to broader L&D plan.
Strong focus on an enterprise approach to learning solutions, which includes using multimedia tools for learner engagement.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects of varying scope and complexity to ensure project timelines and budgets (when applicable) are met: Demonstrate autonomy on all recommendations for final decisions on solutions that will serve the business. Decisions impact budgets, resources, and timing based on business needs.
Support business leaders and client groups by providing expertise in the workplace learning and performance field: Responsible for understanding and managing priorities across the business leadership landscape.
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design or Education, or a transferable degree with relevant work experience and/or certification.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in designing instructional materials, effective delivery methods, technical documentation and general LMS familiarity.
Software/Tools:
Software: Expertise in MS Office Suite, Adobe Pro and Captivate, Articulate (and other similar development software)
Instructional Design Methodology (ADDIE & SAM)
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization.
Ability to collaborate with all levels of management and leadership through relationship development, clarity of communication, etc. for the purpose of selling in ideas and solutions and accomplishing work objectives.
Facilitation and presentation skills.
Time Management:
Problem resolution and time management skills
Keen ability to assess situations, perform root cause analysis and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Working Knowledge of:
Project management at a high volume.
Ability to make and manage decisions that impact entire projects. Ability to demonstrate proficient resourcefulness with time and money to ensure high-quality and cost-effective solutions are delivered in a timely manner.
Creative and analytical thinking:
Demonstrated ability to generate multi-faceted solutions that address diverse needs and work groups.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hybrid On-Site Work Environment: Based in Colorado, this position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site for three (3) or more days per work week (with core collaboration days of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Hiring Salary Range: $72,900 - $109,250 USD*. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
