How will you make a difference?
As a HV Maintenance Technician you will be the person that provides “single point of contact” specialist HV electrical/technical support to the Service Technicians, Field Operation Managers and Engineering Team on all site HV electrical aspects.
Whilst no two days are the same, you key responsibilities will revolve around:
Equipment – You will maintain High and Low Voltage Equipment, as well as commissioning, testing, and replacing High Voltage components such as switchgear and transformers such as cables, transformers, and switchgear.
Fault Finding - You will complete electrical Fault finding and conduct investigations.
Permits – You will operate and provide permits for High Voltage switching/isolations.
HSE – At Nordex Safety comes first! You will be responsible will be responsible to comply with all Nordex and windfarm requirements including health and safety. You will also be responsible for writing risk assessments, method statements and work instructions.
To succeed you will have the following:
HV experience – You will have experience working on Hailo and Zarges Lifts. A good understanding of HV electrical networks and of HV and LV protection and the ability to program and interrogate protection relays. As well as an understanding of how to install HV and LV cable joints and termination.
Electrical Experience - An awareness and understanding of UK electrical regulations and standards, and the ability to coordinate detailed electrical investigate and write accurate detailed reports.
Analytical Mindset – You will show you are Experienced at electrical fault finding and interrogating relays and demonstrate you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.
Adaptability – You will have the ability to work in an environment of continuous change and different challenges. With a positive attitude and willingness to learn, lead, and improve.
Flexibility - Flexible in working time and area with a willingness to travel away from home.
Team Focused - Demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with your colleagues on group projects or team goals.
System Savy – You are computer literate and confident in using MS office, in hour databased and workload management systems, bonus points if you have used SAP!
Working at heights – This role involves working at heights, up to 100m. You will need to be fit and health and pass a working at height test!
Driving Licence – You must have a full EU driving license for this role.
SAP – You must have previous experience of being a SAP (Senior Authorised Person)

What are the working hours
Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm).
The job will be primarily site based. You will expect to travel throughout the UK and Ireland with occasional visits to Europe. Typically, you should expect to be out on site for 5 days / week, with occasional longer periods away (2 weeks maximum). The job will only require Monday to Friday working hours, Weekends will be on an over time basis if required.
