About the role

Queensland Rail have a new vacancy for an experienced Fitter to join our team and work within our Ipswich depot. You will be required to service and maintain our Heritage Rollingstock which includes railmotors, wooden coaches and steam locomotives based out of our Ipswich Workshops.

We are looking for a trade certified and experienced Fitter/ Fitter Turner to join the team on a permanent basis.


Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include
•    Work with other fabricators or engineers on rollingstock modifications to ensure work is compliant with QR and industry standards
•    Investigate and repair broken or fault components of rollingstock
•    Update important records using the computer

About you
•    Fitter Trade Cert
•    Previous experience boiler making or the fabrication industry
•    Willingness to abide by QR’s safe working policies
•    Good communication skills – written and verbal
