In the dynamic and globally expanding SKF Aerospace Product Engineering team, which encompasses diverse self-lubricating product families, there is currently an opening for a CAD Engineer. This role entails:
Creating CAD data that involves developing 3D models, drawings, and related technical product lifecycle information for both new and established bearing designs.
Taking ownership of comprehending customer specifications, generating initial drafts, refining proposals, and producing manufacturing drawings of a right first-time quality, adhering to design rules, standards, and best practices.
Compiling and presenting technical information to advance design activities and reach a consensus on design content.
Reviewing and authorising 3D models, drawings, and technical data to ensure they are prepared for the manufacturing phase.
Leading initiatives to support the vision and projects of the SKF Aerospace Product Engineering team.
Requirements:
A minimum of one year of hands-on experience in a dynamic CAD role, showcasing adept utilisation of standard procedures and established work methodologies.
Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience in effectively utilising Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Microsoft Office software applications.
Possession of an HNC Level 3 qualification in Engineering or relevant experience deemed equivalent. Previous manufacturing experience would be considered advantageous.
Familiarity with design principles and risk analysis, engineering calculations, drawings, and dimensioning through knowledge and practical experience.
Demonstrates a self-motivated and diligent demeanour, coupled with a natural inclination for meticulous attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience in both collaborative teamwork and autonomous problem-solving, leading to successful design consensus.
Eager to acquire new knowledge and enhance personal development, particularly in adopting and mastering the tools and methodologies employed within the team.
Possesses outstanding communication skills, exhibiting a high level of proficiency in conveying information effectively through both written and verbal mediums.
