How do you ensure high levels of safety and quality across various sites?

This role is hybrid with a mix of site, home and office however this is flexible and project dependant.
You’ll be National Grid’s (NG) representative covering various construction-based projects such as, Single Asset Interventions (Circuit Breaker, disconnectors, CT’s and VT’s), Transformer Installations, Shunt Reactor Installations, Cable Replacements, Protection and Control Replacements, Cyber Security Installations covering sites across the South East of England. Essentially, you’ll ensure site-based construction activities delivered by our principal contractors, and when National Grid internal teams undertake the principal contractor’s role, are efficiently managed in accordance with National Grid policies and procedures. You’ll employ the duties of ‘Client representative’ with a keen eye on safety, and the quality of the installation.
You’ll also be required to support in the delivery of self-delivered schemes. This will involve supporting NG site teams to ensure CDM regs are met, provide support when ordering plant and equipment, undertake regular safety audits/walks and hold coordination meetings with all parties on site during project delivery. You’ll also be required to undertake aspects of scheme development, such as completing ‘Site Visit Reports’ or facilitating site visits with designers. You will be expected to stay away from home from time to time i.e., sometimes but not regularly, although this can vary depending on the location of projects at any one time. What are the requirements?
• Minimum Level 3 NVQ / ONC Electrical qualification.
• A proven track record in electricity (or comparable) industry construction.
• Can demonstrate a good understanding of CDM regs and quality management systems.
as supervisor under NEC and/or self-delivered works
• Client Representative experience.
• An awareness of Project, Contract and Stakeholder management.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
• SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
